Evam presents, a Madras Players Production - “Five Point Someone” - an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s book by the same name.
Yes! Today i was fortunate enough to have caught this play and it was quite an experience. It had been a long time since i saw one of Evam’s plays. The last one being in Chennai. I did read the book and even though its not really one of my favorites, i do believe in economics and if something sells then someone somewhere must be doing something right!
I must admit that i am still in awe at how well the play was executed. Its really true to the book and compressing all of that into a 2 hour play with only 1 set shows amazing creativity. The performances, sound, lights and everything else were top notch. In fact in all of the play there never was a dull moment. The audience were hooting and cheering every scene! For a while you could have almost believed you were at a “Siivaji” screening and not a play!
Even Chetan Bhagat was there and he seemed mightly pleased at how play was done. I am sure many of us would agree with him.
